This Privacy Policy explains how Rooted collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Rooted mobile app and website.
Information We Collect
Rooted may collect account information such as your email address, display name, sign-in provider identifiers, and household membership details. The app also stores the meal plans, recipes, ingredients, grocery lists, tags, notes, and photos that you choose to add.
We may collect technical information needed to operate and protect the service, including device details, app version, authentication events, crash reports, diagnostics, and sync metadata.
How We Use Information
- To provide meal planning, recipe, grocery list, and household sync features.
- To authenticate users and manage access to household data.
- To maintain, debug, secure, and improve Rooted.
- To respond to support, safety, or account requests.
Storage and Service Providers
Rooted uses Firebase and related Google services for authentication, cloud storage, database sync, crash reporting, and app infrastructure. These providers process information on our behalf so the app can function across devices.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Household data may be visible to members of the household you join or create. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to operate the service through trusted providers.
Data Retention
We retain account and household data for as long as needed to provide Rooted, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain backups. Some deleted data may remain temporarily in backups or logs.
Your Choices
You can update or remove app content from within Rooted. You can also request account or data deletion by contacting us. We may need to retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup integrity.
Children
Rooted is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Rooted changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
